While at previous employment, IDeAs team members led the electrical system design of the 1.1M SF Google Bay View Campus at Moffett Field. This campus is Google’s first foray into new construction and features three all electric, high performance buildings including an innovative clerestory design to manage daylighting, ultra high performance transformers to minimize standby losses, dragon scale PV roof shingles which generate approximately 40% of the site’s total energy, heat pumps using geothermal piles that store energy in the ground during the summer cooling season and later pull heat from the ground during the winter heating season, sitewide storm water management and Google’s first major all electric food preparation facility.
