New IDeAs!

IDeAs V2.0 – IDeAs Consulting Inc. reopened in September of 2020. Our vision is to continue to develop innovative, cutting edge concepts for electrical systems that lead the building industry to more sustainable, zero carbon buildings. We work to design buildings that are cost effective, yet are healthier, are more comfortable and better for the environment. Our expertise includes specialties such as all-electric net zero operational carbon designs, campus scale PV/battery microgrids, existing building electrification, fleet electrification, V2G/V2B studies, and even off grid electrical systems using electrolysis and hydrogen fuel cells. Our services and areas of deep green electrical expertise are listed under services.

In 2011 the firm joined Integral Group, a rapidly growing MEP firm focused on deep green engineering. During the Covid pandemic, IDeAs reopened with a renewed focus on developing industry leading, deep green electrical systems for buildings. Our experience includes commercial, civic, educational and multifamily residential projects.

Impact – Our team developed many of the electrical systems for America’s break through, deep green and net zero carbon buildings. Our focus is helping to move our industry toward a more sustainable future to maximize our impact. Our projects include technology studies and grant funded work incorporating installation of cutting edge technologies. David Kaneda founded IDeAs as Integrated Design Associates, Inc. in June of 1999, as the green building movement took off and quickly developed a reputation for designing innovative, sustainable, electrical systems in an industry that traditionally values conservative, low risk, tried and true methods.

Collaboration – IDeAs collaborates regularly with leading green mechanical and energy modeling innovators including Point Energy Innovations, Alter Consulting Engineers, Ecotope and Redwood Energy to design next generation, high performance buildings. We can work as an individual firm or can form an MEP team under a single contract. We also collaborate regularly with leading sustainable building related organizations including: Prospect Silicon Valley and the New Buildings Institute.
