IDeAs provided electrical engineering, lighting and low voltage system design services for the building which houses the biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, earth sciences, geology, forestry, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) classrooms, laboratories, offices and study rooms for the campus. The energy conservation features include 40kW of thin film photovoltaic power, high efficiency electrical transformers, high efficiency lighting supplemented with natural light using skylights. The system also includes geothermal heating and cooling for a cadaver laboratory, high efficiency heating and air-conditioning systems, solar water heating and a hands-on energy metering system. The project is LEED Gold certified.
