Green from the ground up, the Brower Center is a powerful model of sustainable, mixed-use development. Utilizing the latest in energy-saving technologies and recycled building materials, the Center makes as light a footprint on the Earth as possible, taking into account the true life-cycle cost of building construction, operation, and maintenance. This 50,000 SF Environmental Center includes a restaurant, conference center and office space dedicated to environmental non-profits plus 40 underground parking spaces. There is also an adjacent residential building with 97 units of affordable housing. IDeAs Consulting performed the electrical design featuring: high performance direct / indirect lighting, daylighting and daylight harvesting, and renewable energy. The project received a LEED Platinum Certification.
