This project developed an electric vehicle blueprint for transitioning the entire Twin Rivers Unified School District school bus fleet to zero-emission vehicles and progressing toward its sustainability goals. IDeAs supported Prospect Silicon Valley in developing assessments of the charging infrastructure as well and analysis of available and emerging electric bus and EV charging technologies and strategies and their applicability to school district applications. The blueprint documents impact assessments, charging infrastructure and site analyses, environmental and economic analyses, and innovative technology evaluations to support the District’s phased procurement and deployment of electric buses and charging infrastructure. The district at one point had the largest electric school bus fleet in the country and continues to grow its fleet. It now has over 70 electric school buses and is committed to building a fleet of 100% alternative fuel vehicles.
